Notes:
We have a school district training day coming up on Tuesday, May 8th. This will be a day when teachers work, but there will be no school in session. Teachers will be trained on the new curriculum alignment that supports the recently adopted Common Core State Standards. These Standards have been adopted by most states, including Nevada. They are very different from the old state curriculum standards that we have used for many years, and it’s important that teachers learn how to apply these standards in the classroom so that our students can be prepared for high school graduation and are college and career ready. The time we spend on the eighth will be an investment in our students’ future.

We appreciate your support during proficiency testing week (April 30-May 4). Our students’ performance on these exams tells us a lot about our performance as a school. We’re optimistic that we’ll do as well as we have in years past.

Our Booster Club Walk-a-Thon is coming in May, and the last week of school in June is full of exciting end-of-the-year activities. We invite parents to be part of any or all of these events.
